ALANIS is back with "Guardian" !

Alanis Morisette is back with Awesomeness! She went under the radar with the release of her 7th studio album "Flavors of entanglement" which were released in 2008 due to lack of airplays and exposures from mainstream media due to not so strong materials off the album which were not as strong as "So Called Chaos"(2004) or "under rug swept"(2002)

So glad she's back this year with the new fresh doses of creativity. "guardian" the first single off the new album contains beautiful penned lyric with haunting melody. Which will reminds you with the quality of her previous hits such as "everything", "hands clean" and more.

The new album talks about Alanis motherhood experience,spritual, politics & philosophy which carries the continuation of Alanis signature theme of album musical direction.  Check out the first single "guardian"!

Drummer Night @ Nerofico

Contrary to the usual offering by other KL event organiser, Nerofico "Drummer Night" certainly has it own way to lure visitors to their dining outlet. Nerofico as cute as it sound is actually an Italian restaurant located at Wisma Perintis at Jalan Dungun Damansara Heights(Help, CIMB etc). Not only they serve quite an extensive, affordable menu on pasta and other Italian dishes they also host a series of showcase and performance night to entertain their guest.

On 29th April, the diner were packed with drummers and drum lovers. It was a full house event,where i had to enjoy my pasta while standing next to the bar. lol. But since i am so close to the stage, the best "seat" is mine, i literally can jump on the drummer's lap. :) so yeah!

The sunday night showcase,consist of 6 reknowned young talented drummers in Klang Valley, they are John Thomas(who also play the macho host that night), Jimmy Tan( from the band 'tempered mental' who also proves that he can also be an entertaining host with needful amount of laughter to loosen up the crowd ), steve nanda, omar ibrahim, the handsome martin ngim & the famous sessionist in town right now mr azim jenk (Faizal Tahir's drummer).

It was really good to see this time around the drummer is given a chance to frontal the stage, no more hiding behind the vocalist. It was an instrumental night where they perform covers and some instrumental arrangement from their own composition. 4 drums which belongs to 4 drummer were place on stage. while the other two drummer took their turns to share.

The showcase was a successful one, i bet they gonna have another round of it anytime soon! :)

Sidang Hantu Hantu@DBP KL

Sidang si hantu hantu, dimana mahu duduk, siapa mahu dirasuk, jika orang sudah tidak kenal erti takut...?


Dipentaskan di Auditorium Dewan Bahasa Pustaka, Kuala Lumpur pada 23 hingga 24 April sempena minggu Sanggar Teater Serantau, Majlis Sastera Asia Tenggara(MASTERA) yang dianjurkan oleh Dewan Bahasa Pustaka (DBP).

Sempena minggu Sanggar Teater Serantau, 4 teater dari 4 negara serumpun akan mementaskan karya teater terbaik dari Malaysia, Singapura, Brunei & Indonesia selama 5 malam pada bulan 4. (April), 2012.

Teater "Sidang Hantu Hantu" dari Kuching, Sarawak yang dipilih untuk mewakili Malaysia sempena minggu Sanggar Teater Serantau. Naskah "sidang hantu hantu" telah pun menemui penonton teater di Sarawak dengan judul asal "Hanturisme". Istimewanya untuk versi Sanggar Teater Serantau di DBP, versinya telah diolah dengan unsur-unsur komedi yang lucu dan menghiburkan,namun diselit sempurna dengan mesej-mesej yang ingin disampaikan kepada penonton segenap lapisan umur dan latar belakang. Istimewanya naskah "sidang hantu hantu" yang ditulis oleh Saudara Dahiri Saini, dialog setiap watak agak panjang yang memerlukan kepakaran dan kreativiti setiap pelakonnya untuk mengolah setiap kata kata watak supaya tidak kedengaran mendatar dan membosankan.

Tenaga produksi dan pelakon didatangkan khas dari Kuching, dibarisi oleh Wezan Saili(I Setan), Sabri Bujang(Langsuir), Siti Hasrina(Bini Langsuir), Ferrazillah(Pocong), Ernie(Bini Pocong), Siti Rohani(Darakula), Rushdie Mornie(Pemuda 1) dan Suhardi Fauzi (Pemuda 2). Naskah "sidang hantu hantu" diarahkan oleh Saudara Abdul Wahab Firdaus dari Teater Pekasa Sarawak. Selesai pementasan di DBP, "Sidang Hantu Hantu" akan dipentaskan di USM, Pulau Pinang pada 29 April dan kemudiannya akan dipentaskan di Brunei.

Teater sempena Sanggar Teater Serantau akan dipentaskan secara percuma di DBP, jam 8.30 malam pada:-
23-24 April (Malaysia "Sidang Hantu Hantu")
25 April(Brunei "Pintu")
26 April (Indonesia "Penggali Intan) dan
28 April (Singapura "Bicara").

I usually hates convocations, i nearly skipped mine(but im glad i didnt skipped it!), convocation took a long hours esp if you had to be part of it, and yeap longer waiting hours. The larger the batch of students involved the longer waiting time awaits for each of them waiting for their name to be called.

Anyway last year i attended two convocation of my friends. This year, im glad when my friend invited me to join her convocation. I'm a lil excited since this time around, it was a convocation for Malaysia Airlines Flight Attendant. It was for 2011 batch 15 & 16. 

Held on April 10th, at the Malaysia Airlines Academy in Kelana Jaya, which i reckon it shall be appropriately refer as the bird nest since it really nest Malaysia Airlines flight crew and office management before they actually join the Malaysia Airlines working world,  offering their award winning services up in the air or on the ground.

The convocation began with opening remarks then welcoming speech by the officers from the management office. Then followed by the cert giving ceremony which the FA & FS names were called one by one, and they walk up to the stage with grace and smiley faces. Later they played video montage of the batch, the before and after transformation. I had fun watching the transformation video. Where they highlighted all of the transformation of the grads. Some of them came from rural kampung, i particularly remember one video of FA named Syafiq (batch 16) who put up his photo nearby padi fields on his old motorbike, hes the usual kampung rempit, it was quite inspirational watching how he has transformed into a professional MAS FA wearing the dark turquoise suit with hair combed neatly and smiling confidently ready to take over the world.

It also quite touching to watch some of the grad put up their before photos that showed their lower end part of their life, some who worked at gerai, some showed their childish side with the ducklips photo, and then watching their transformation "after" photo with them wearing the MAS kebaya and suit looking matured and professionally, i cant help but getting emotional, the proud feeling of seeing your closest friends and family has now going to start their working life full of confident and charisma. *tears ;)

Similar to other convocation, MAS FA & FS convocation were held in the morning, at 10am and completed  right before lunch time. They serve refreshments for the parents,family and friends attending the ceremony. I leave the hall feeling so proud of them all.Of course i have a bigger respect for them all.Knowing that to completed all the training and exams with only 3 mistakes in all paper(97% minimum passing marks), surely not everyone can handle the rigorous modules! So yeah! congratulations everyone! especially to miss raihana, syafiq, Sofia and all batch 15 & 16 Malaysia Airlines Academy Grads!

 Maybe we'll meet again on board :)

A trail to YUNA.The US Debut.

April 24th is the official released Date. The US debut perfectly titled "Yuna". In the album Yuna collaborated with a few US, Canadian & UK talented producer Pharell(Gwen Stefani,Madonna,Shakira,Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Kelis, Timbaland etc), Chris Braide (Lana Del Ray,Katherine Mcphee,Paloma Faith,Pixie Lott, Westlife, etc), Andre Harris(Alicia Keys,Mario,Mariah Carey,Destiny Child,Macy Gray, Usher etc) & James Bryan (Nelly Furtado,James Morisson etc)

The album contains 13 Yuna inspired songs with mature,commercially edgy but still fun, which she wrote with the producers. The Producers helps polished up and fusion the indie sound of Yuna's music, for bigger stage as well as larger airplay.

Norah Jones, new Happy Pills

If you happened to be an artiste, a Grammy Award winning one perhaps. Sold millions copies of album worldwide, 24 millions to be exact. What would you do when going through a break up? Well,of course, you have to wrote a song! In Norah Jones case, she wrote alot of songs to fit into an album!

 

The new, fifth studio album by Norah Jones was appropriately named "....little broken hearts" The album contains 12 breakup heartfelt songs in various perspective in of course Norah Jones signatures styles. Since her debut in 2002, Norah actually has experiment with various musical style. So no, expect some blues,jazz with some pop rock and country. Produced by producer and friend "danger mouse" Aka Brian Burton, the duo started working on the album at his studio in LA. The creatives element has also been applied to her website and social media platforms.

Set to be release 1st May 2012 by Bluenote/EMI, The tracklisting for the album has been previewed during SXSW gaining rave reviews from the audience. Question is, who caused the breakup? ist Norah or her boyfriend Lee? Well you might find the answer if you listen to the album ! :)
